If you’re a Facebook User, by now you know that Facebook has released a new profile design that displays a quick summary of your key profile information.
This key information is pulled from what you’ve inputted into your Info tab under the following categories:
- Education and Work
- Arts & Entertainment
- Activities & Interests
- Basic Information
- Contact Information
From a business owner’s stand point, the coolest thing about the new profiles is that you can link to your Facebook Business page by entering in the business page information in the Employer field under the Education and Work tab.
But if you have tried to do that, it isn’t as easy as click, type in your business page name and voila! Most of the time, your business page will not display and your employer name will link to a barren Community Page.
There is a workaround to this that involved claiming your community page and waiting for Facebook help center to grant you admin rights that would merge your community page to your business page.
If you’ve ever dealt with Facebook Help, you know that the response can be slow and most of the time, you just end up receiving a generic email that says “for additional information please visit our help center”.
Worse yet, people who actually did get Facebook to link their community page to their fan page regretted it because their business page lost a lot of its functionality.
My business owner clients needed this and I had to find a way to get their business pages linked in the employer field—the right way.
Well, I’m happy to say THANKS TO INTERNET NINJAS (aka web developers) there is a way to list your business page as your employer.
